Awwww!

They took a picture of Julia talking to me on the phone. Basically I sing to her for like 20 minutes when we are on the phone. How cute is this? She got a new haircut! What a big girl! Makes me homesick though. We are so far from home!

I'm Ready for Spring

When I arrived to Alaska it was "warm" for this time of year and I heard an early spring was on the way. Well no such luck. Woke up today to my first Alaska snow. Most (Chris and some other Alaskans) would laugh at me blogging about the snow but it just isn't stopping and I don't think it ever will AND everyone is driving and going to work and going to school. LOL I had to go to Wal Mart and everyone was passing me on the highway but whatever. There were a couple people in the ditch and one of them passed me. Sooo...I took the trash out so I could sneak a few pictures :) lol

A Little Ski Adventure

Chris and I joined some friends at Hillberg ski area on base for a little skiing Sunday. Chris did so well! I was nervous the first run. It took me a long time to get down the tiny slope. Chris's ski instructor had me join Chris for the end of the class and I fell twice in ski school...lol...because he was trying to teach me to do it the correct way and my brain was like, "no don't do that" so I fell.
HOoray for CHris for doing so fabulous! He will be zooming past me in no time!

Busy Weekend!

We had a busy weekend! Luckily Chris was off Monday for Presidents day so we bought a couch from Saddler's and lovely tv stand from Target with our wedding gift cards. Like a wonderful husband, Chris unwrapped the whole tv stand and organized the parts and got right to work. I offered to get out of the way because I wasn't feeling up to putting together this thing but I got involved. Good thing because Chris had stuff on backwards a couple times :) teeheehee We sure did learn how a cam lock worked...lol Sooooo now we have one other piece of furniture besides a bed! Our couch won't be here for a a couple or three weeks. The End Result...and our fireplace and the pillows we sit on to watch tv.

Alaska!

I arrived in Alaska Saturday February 13th. I logged 12 hours of travel time, about 9 of them were in the air! I was a spaz all the way to Houston and about half the way to Seattle but on the way to Anchorage I held it together even though I figured out we were flying over the ocean the entire time. As we got closer to Anchorage it was entertaining because the mountains are beautiful! Chris was so cute :o) waiting for me at the airport, he lied and said he was 10 min away but there he was sitting there all handsome waiting for me. He had the apartment all clean and everything. I was exhausted!

Wedding Day! The beginning of our life together and the reason I wanted to start this blog. Most know the tale of our wedding but most don't because they were unable to attend. The roads were bad coming from Conway and there was slickness everywhere, much like my everyday life now in AK, but I won't get too far ahead...anyways, only the brave set out for our wedding :) I'm glad too many people didn't try to come because that would have only increased the risk for someone getting hurt. Our officiant was Father James Melnick and my grandpa said something halarious...he told Father James that since it was his first wedding "he hoped it took". LOL! We all made it there safe and sound and the wedding was a great success!
