33 Weeks!

Getting there slowly! Now when the baby moves around its not just in one place in my belly its over here aaand over there, like a wave.
Oh yes, and Bern, notice the pillow cover...lol

Going Walking

We take Radar for a walk every day that it isn't raining. I think we have had one or two days we've had to skip because of the rain but we don't skip for any other reason. If I have to work Chris takes him but Radar does best when we both take him. He likes to stall alot more and when its only one of us taking him for a walk, so we thought that was funny. One day I had to leave them and I looked out the window and saw them walking and it was the cutest sight!

a couple days shy of 30 WEEKS

Here we are! Almost thirty weeks along! boy oh boy I feel big and I can't believe I will only be getting bigger. I've been out of my regular scrubs since about 24-25 weeks and I look at them and think, "I can't believe I ever fit into these or any of my other clothes for that matter." I have to go do a three hour glucose test tomorrow. How boring because I have to sit there in the lab waiting room for all that time with lab draws after each hour.
Yay for baby Roman getting bigger though :) I can't wait for his furniture to arrive so I can start decorating and organizing his room!
oh yes, and just kidding about no accidents with the puppy. We've have a few now but I think he is learning. He is just a baby so I'll give him a break. He is doing really well for how young he is.

Its a Boy :)

We got a puppy! This is "Radar!" I think he looks like an Indiana Jones but I don't want to call him that and I don't want to shorten and call him Indi so...radar it is. He was born July 3rd and he is a welsh corgi. He is so sweet! We got him Sunday and so far no accidents in the house and he isn't whiney at all.

26 almost 27 weeks

I saw Roman this week on ultrasound...they were taking a closer look at his heart and the doc said so far it looks great but when he is born it could change because the pressures in the heart change and something that we don't see now could show up...but i'm not worried, he looks great now so I'm good with that. I got a couple pics too but his daddy took them to work to hang on his board to show off so I'll have to post them later when I get them back. Roman was a two pounder and measured perfectly as 26 weeks. So here I am all pregnant and stuff!

Resurrection Bay/Seward, AK

We traveled down to Seward on Sunday, about a 2 1/2 hour drive from us, and went on a dinner cruise. We crusied on Resurrection Bay to Fox Island for dinner and saw the wildlife along the way. We were quite fortunate to see so much on the 3 hours tour. The weather was perfect and we saw Bald Eagles, Orca whales!!, & I saw a Puffin but didn't get a picture of him. This was a big deal to see the whales because people don't always get to. Even the crew and captain of our boat were freaking out because when we docked for the dinner the whales swam inland to our boat and under the dock, it was soooooo cool. I was in shock and didn't get a picture of it but I was standing on the dock and three were all in a line swimming straight at us.

Chris spotted this Eagle far off and then it flew right above our heads! I was just watching it and then was like, Oh I should take a picture! They said there are a pair of Eagles for every mile(?) I think of shore line in the bay. We saw another eagle in the nest on shore and I suppose this one was out getting their food.

What is sightseeing without buying a little something at the gift shops? Of course, for Roman lol One from Memaw Popham and one from his mommy :)

Matanuska Glacier

Chris's parents are in Alaska and we've been doing some sightseeing. This is the Matanuska Glacier. It is a couple hours drive northeast of where we live. It is a 27 mile long Glacier that goes back into the Chugach Mountains. You can go to a place and get on the glacier but its a little dangerous so we didn't go. In some spots they say it reaches 10,000 feet and at its widest is 4 miles. It used to occupy the entire valley you see here.



Also a pretty stream we saw along the way. The water is very blue and lovely which makes me believe it is glacier water.

Our Little Corner of the World

Finally a few pictures of our new casa. We live in a quad-plex, we got lucky and got one on the end and on the corner of the street.

This is the front arctic entry way...fancy for two doors I think lol

To the immediate right there is the front den (taken from above) Roman's rocking chair too that will go in his room later.

To the left are the stairs.


Straight ahead is the other den.

Off that is the kitchen.

The upstairs are the bedrooms and laundry closet. Our room isn't much too look at right now. We still need a dresser and stuff so it looks bare.

There is Mr. Bear in the window waiting for the bees to get there so he can steal the honey. (I'm going to do his room in bees)

Everything is white and we aren't going to paint anything because we would have to paint it back white and that doesn't sound fun. We will only be here for 2 1/2 years so we decided "no".

Our Baby :o)

We are so excited! Had the 20 week ultrasound today and everything looked pretty good to me and the exciting thing is the baby is a BOY!! :o) Meet Roman Popham! His favorite things are kicking, sleeping, and working out with mama, and learning how to be a nurse from his mama too!

We Moved!

We moved yesterday onto base...Elmendorf AFB! I'm very excited because we have a lot more room!! I was walking down the stairs and looked out the window and there was a big black bear walking along just on the other side of the street. Today I got a card in the mail from Nick and Sara and at the end Nick wrote, "be careful the bears can smell the baby!" So I guess that's why the bear was coming around :) He was actually closer to our house than the pictures I was just watching the bear and forgot to run and get my camera until he got a little farther.

Alaska in the Spring/Summer!

We went to Whittier, which is a very small town on the ocean, on Saturday. This is where cruise ships stop and people get on the train or the bus and go to Anchorage or where ever they go! The big building in the background is the hotel and then they have a couple small cafe's and they do have a school. The road stops at this town and it is a tiny tiny town!


These pictures I took on the road along the way. The Glacier is a small one that sits next to the "beach". It is called Portage Lake. You can take a cruise around it and go look at the glaciers.


The waterfalls coming down the mountains are soooo cool!





I thought this was a cool photo op...the mountain is way taller than this but the clouds are covering it and the sun is shining so bright. It reminded me of Jurassic Park.

A tiny Baby :)

This is the only picture I have of my little baby :) We have it proudly displayed on our mantle. The baby is 8 wks old in the picture.

I am 14 weeks pregnant in this picture!

One potato, two potatoes!

I have been on a baked potato kick for a couple weeks now...all I want is a baked potato! Sooo, I've been baking them in the oven and it takes FOREVER, and then one day Chris pops it in the microwave and a few minutes later a soft, lovely potato. I guess I knew you could do this I just forgot. The things we learn from the husband lol I love Wendy's too right now! One, because they have baked potatoes and yesterday I had a spicy chicken sandwich for lunch and supper! Chris is on some sort of diet so he fixes all his meals so that leaves me to get whatever-so that is what I ate :) and it was lovely!
Stay tuned for next wednesday...baby doctor appointment! Hopefully I will get a new picture so I can post it :) I will be 12 weeks then!

8 weeks :)

I am eight weeks pregnant! I have been nauseated for the past two-three weeks but the last three days have been decent. It takes me all morning to feel better and after lunch and post lunch snack I can usually do what I need to do. I have my first doctor appointment tomorrow (yay!) and I also have some sort of orientation class to pregnancy at 0930 and all I'm sayin is they better have some snacks for us preggo's or else we'll be passed out on the floor...I'm going to take a few snacks just in case. It is curious how just a little thing can make me cry also...lol anywayss!
I can't wait until tomorrow! Daddy is excited toooo :)

Baby on the Way!

We just found out there is a tiny new Popham! Woweeee! Due November 9th by my calculations :) Chris wanted to tell the whole world and was afraid that I would tell someone so we didn't wait to spread the news. I was feeling awesome until today...very nauseated and just can't get anything done. Its 12 o'clock now and I'm finally feeling "well" enough to take a shower and get on the computer. Guess that's why its called morning sickness lol. Nothing looks good to eat at all. I opened my fridge and said "yuck" and closed it back. I don't know what I'm going to eat! Maccaroni and Cheese, sherbert, and saltine crackers sound really good so I'm going to get out of the house and get some! I must be really tired also because I didn't hear Chris's alarm go off this morning or hear him get ready. He told me bye bye for the day and I went right back to sleep. He put away all the dishes I washed yesterday before he went to work and washed his breakfast dishes, how sweet :o) My first doctor appointment is March 31st. I have gone to clinic twice already though. Once for a prego test and then the next day for all the lab to be drawn and they made me my first appointment. My friend, Lacey, and I are due the exact same day...halarious! We were both feeling great and turns out she is also feeling yucky today too. We will have many things to talk about!

Awwww!

They took a picture of Julia talking to me on the phone. Basically I sing to her for like 20 minutes when we are on the phone. How cute is this? She got a new haircut! What a big girl! Makes me homesick though. We are so far from home!

I'm Ready for Spring

When I arrived to Alaska it was "warm" for this time of year and I heard an early spring was on the way. Well no such luck. Woke up today to my first Alaska snow. Most (Chris and some other Alaskans) would laugh at me blogging about the snow but it just isn't stopping and I don't think it ever will AND everyone is driving and going to work and going to school. LOL I had to go to Wal Mart and everyone was passing me on the highway but whatever. There were a couple people in the ditch and one of them passed me. Sooo...I took the trash out so I could sneak a few pictures :) lol




AND our JEEP that helps me get around in the blizzard!
